Kyle Connor gave Winnipeg the lead 16:20 into the first when he tipped a point shot from Dylan DeMelo past Gibson to make it 1-0.
The goal was his 28th of the season.
Nate Schmidt scored on a double bank shot on the power play 7:47 into the second period.
With Pavol Regenda off for interference, Schmidt's low shot from the left point careened off of both Gustav Lindstrom and Pavel Mintyukov's skates before ending up behind Gibson.
The goal was his 2nd of the season.
Winnipeg broke the game open in the third period, firing three straight goals.
Dylan DeMelo scored just under five minutes into the third when he took a Nikolaj Ehlers feed, moved into the top of the circle and fired a slapshot that Gibson could only manage to get a piece of to give the Jets a 3-0 lead.
The goal was his 2nd of the season.
Tyler Toffoli scored 8:07 into the third off a faceoff win, shooting through a screen to notch his first goal as a Winnipeg Jet, following his trade last week from the New Jersey Devils.
Sean Monahan won the draw back to Toffoli who moved toward the center of the ice following the top of the circle before firing the puck through traffic and beating Gibson glove side to make it 4-0.
Toffoli scored again eight seconds into a power play at 11:05 when he redirected a Mark Scheifele shot off his right leg to make it 5-0.
The goal was his 28th of the season.
Mason Appleton scored with 5.5 seconds left in regulation off a nifty backhand pass from Adam Lowry to make it 6-0 Jets.
The goal was his 12th of the season.
Both teams see their next action on Sunday as Anaheim visits St. Louis and Winnipeg kicks off a five game eastern road trip, their longest of the season, in Columbus.
